You've Got to Have a Little Fiber Sometimes! an art quilt exhibit by Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists, Jacqi Levy and Jody Larson
Friends and fiber artists Jacqi Levy and Jody Larson invite you to enjoy a stroll through “You've Got to Have a Little Fiber Sometimes!”, now on display through March. Jacqi & Jody are both members of Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists and Women Who Run with Scissors. They have a variety of styles but are kindred spirits in their proclivity for most things fiber.
In the photo top: Jacqi Levy’s “Red Lunar La de Dah”. Artist description: ”Just a fun quilt to make. Each Bead is individually stitched. Background fabric is hand dyed, commercial fabrics and batiks.”
In the photo bottom: Jody Larson’s “Purkinje” Artist description: “This is a shout out to Wisconsin scientists who make it their life's work to explore the microscopic world, making the seeming invisible visible. Discoveries found in this tiny world help drive scientific innovation across the state. The Purkinje cell is one of the largest neurons with numerous branching dendrites. I chose this to represent scientific discovery, growth and interconnectivity throughout the state. Commercial fabric and cord, fusing, machine quilting.”

An Aviary of Affection
I was honored and surprised to receive this amazing quilt and pillow, made by members of the Blue Bar community. Titled "An Aviary of Affection", it couldn't have been a more perfect gift for me, full of birds and incredible collaborative artistry, two of my favorite things. I thank the makers for this quilt, but most of all for sustaining and nurturing the community that they have built in and around Blue Bar. My love to you all! 💙💛❤️
