Stars Table Runner

Star blocks are beloved quilting designs with a reputation for being tricky, but once you understand their essential building blocks, there is no need to fear making them! In this hands-on class, we will teach you the three fundamental units that power a variety of star patterns. You will put your new skills to work by building three beautiful star blocks, leaving class with a stunning 12” x 48” table runner you made yourself!

In this class, you’ll make three different star blocks:

  • Friendship Star
  • Sawtooth Star
  • Ohio Star

To make these blocks, you’ll learn one method to construct:

  • Half-square triangles
  • Quarter-square triangles
  • Flying geese units

Understanding these three units opens the door to making dozens of different star blocks — so what you learn in this class will serve you far beyond the table runner itself.

You’ll leave class with star blocks that can be joined to create a 12” x 48” Stars Table Runner and access to 11 digital reference guides covering every block, every unit, and the full table runner assembly — a library of resources you’ll reach for again and again.

This class is perfect for you if:

  • You want to learn the block units that make star quilts possible
  • You’ve wanted to make star blocks but weren’t sure where to start
  • You want to build your confidence with half-square triangles, flying geese, and quarter-square triangles all in one class
