Double Fold Binding for Quilters

Binding is the grand finale of your quilt—but for many, it's the most dreaded step. Say goodbye to corners that won't lie flat and ends that never join cleanly! This hands-on class takes the mystery out of double fold binding so you can confidently finish your quilts with a professional touch.
You will practice on a provided quilted sandwich, allowing you to focus entirely on mastering the technique without worrying about messing up your own quilt.
In this class, you’ll learn how to:
- Sew binding strips together to form one continuous piece
- Attach binding to the first side of the quilt by machine
- Fold and miter corners for clean, square edges—with tips and tricks to make it easier
- Join the two binding ends together perfectly, every single time
- Attach binding to the opposite side by machine
- Explore options for hand stitching the second side for a traditional finish
- Choose thread colors and fabric combinations for the most seamless look possible
This class is perfect for you if:
- You are not sure how to make continuous binding strips
- You struggle with getting perfect, square corners
- Joining the binding ends together never seems to work out right
- You want to learn how to machine stitch both sides so you don’t have to hand stitch
You’ll leave with a finished binding sample, practical skills you can apply to your next project immediately, and access to a 5-page digital reference guide loaded with step-by-step instructions, illustrations, and video links!
