Foundation Paper Piecing for Beginners

In this class you will learn all the basic skills of foundation paper piecing (FPP) while making the ultra-modern Mirth Quilt by designer Teresa Coates of Crinkle Dreams. The Mirth Quilt lends itself to many different color layouts and design options - no two quilts will be the same! Foundation paper piecing provides precise control over fabric placement, resulting in sharp, accurate quilt blocks and intricate designs and patterns that would be difficult to achieve with traditional piecing methods. While each FPP pattern is different, the basic steps and techniques are universal. Finished project is 27" square.

Megan spends her sewing time making bags, foundation paper piecing, as well as the occasional traditionally pieced quilt. When she is not sewing or working at Blue Bar Quilts, you can find her teaching in the Madison schools, hiking or biking with her family, or walking her latest foster dog. |
