Simple Zipper Pouch
If zippers are intimidating, but you’re ready to tackle that fear in a safe environment, this class is for you. You’ll learn how to make a basic, lined 6"x 8” pouch with a zipper, perfect for holding essentials or giving as a gift. In addition to the basics, we’ll also review options available for your next zipper pouch, such as adding interfacing, inside pockets, piecing and quilting, a detachable strap, and a boxy bottom. A zipper foot that fits your sewing machine is necessary. Bonus - the pattern is included in the class fee.
Supply List
- 10" or longer zipper (zipper by the yard or longer zippers can be cut to size)
- 1/4 yard fabric for outside, canvas or quilting cotton
- 1/4 yard fabric for lining, canvas or quilting cotton
- 1/4 yard fusible fleece (optional if using canvas)
- polyester thread, neutral or to match your fabrics
- Sewing machine with a zipper foot and 1/4" foot
- Basic sewing tools & supplies (rotary cutter, scissors, seam ripper, sewing machine needles, pins/wonder clips)

| Instructor Bio: | Christine (she/her) has been creating for as long as she can remember. As a kid, she finished her mom’s crewel projects, sewed doll clothes on a temperamental White sewing machine, crocheted a sweater for her dog, and counted many cross stitches. As an adult, she quilts (both machine and EPP), makes clothes because she has too many quilts, weaves and knits. She continues to work on improving her skills and is always open to learning new ones. In her non-sewing life, Christine is a public servant, a mom to 3 kids and a rescue dog from Texas, and a wife. She loves road trips to national parks with a needle and thread. |
