Year in Hexies Block of the Month - an EPP Quilt
Join us for this year's English Paper Piecing (EPP) block of the month, featuring the "Year in Hexies" pattern by Liz Oner of Indie Hipster Quilts!
Designed with both beginners and experienced EPP lovers in mind, this pattern is structured to build skill and confidence. It consists of 10 simple blocks, with each month introducing and focusing on specific EPP techniques paired to a particular block.
Ideal for English Paper Piecing (EPP) enthusiasts of all skill levels, this pattern offers a wonderfully meditative daily project. It's a fantastic scrap-buster, or it can be easily adapted for use as a color study or a temperature quilt. Finished size is 58" x 70".
Supply List
- 8 yards of assorted fabrics, specific requirements will be sent via email after class registration (fabric selection and cutting will be covered in the first class if you haven't chosen a palette yet.)
- Needles of your choice (sharps recommended)
- Year in Hexies pattern
- Year in Hexies paper piece kit
- 28mm rotary cutter
- Cutting mat (18"x 24" or 12"x18" are big enough and easy to transport)
- Erasable fabric marking pencil (NOT Frixion brand pens)
- 50wt thread in a neutral color or selections to coordinate with fabrics
- Embroidery scissors or thread snips
- Glue pen, water-soluble (Sewline recommended)
- Small binder clips or Wonder Clips
- Pencil
Optional: Beeswax for thread conditioning, template plastic, or set of acrylic templates to fussy cut fabrics*
