Echoes of Iceland Block of the Month
Join Laura, our certified Stripology instructor, to create a stunning quilt inspired by the landscapes and cultural motifs of Iceland. This quilt, designed by Gudrun Erla of GE Designs, is a celebration of her Icelandic heritage. You'll use accessible, modern techniques to bring the beauty of Gudrun's homeland to life in each block. This is also a fantastic opportunity to build your skills using the Stripology rulers and tools. Each session will begin with a focused tutorial on a different block or section of this medallion-style quilt design. The remainder of the time will be open sew for you to work on your piecing.

Supply List: (everything is available at the shop)
- Echoes of Iceland book by GE Designs (required)
- Stripology XL and/or Squared ruler (required). Optional: Stripology Squared Mini and/or Quarters Mini rulers
- GEasy ruler stickers
- GEasy Trimmers
- GEasy Organizing Stickers and Clips
- Sewing machine in good working order, with power cord & foot pedal
- 1/4” presser foot
- Cutting mat, 18"x 24" minimum size or larger
- Rotary cutter, 45mm
- Sewing basics – thread for piecing, pins, seam ripper, sewing machine needles, etc.
- Optional: Iron/pressing tool and pressing board/pad (irons & boards are available in the classroom for shared use)
- Complete Echoes of Iceland fabric kit with Heima fabrics designed by Gudrun Erla, includes all fabrics for the quilt top and binding.
- Choose your own fabrics palette according to the requirements in the pattern book

| Instructor Bio: | Hello! I began my quilting journey over 20 years ago. Right before the pandemic, I was fortunate enough to attend one of Gudrun Erla's classes in person. Since then I have attended many of her virtual retreats and classes and have made many of her quilts designs. I recently became a certified Stripology® instructor so I can share my knowledge and passion for the Stripology rulers and methods and GE Design patterns with other quilters. |
