Sewcial Open Studio
This class offers a flexible option to work on a project of your choice with guidance, allowing for personalized learning in a supportive environment.
Has a particular garment pattern caught your eye but you’re not sure if you can tackle it on your own? Did you print a PDF pattern and can’t fit the pieces together? Maybe you need help with a bag project or installing a zipper. Or maybe you’ve tried foundation paper piecing and it just doesn’t make any sense. It’s all on the (sewing) table during the guided open studio.
If you’re interested in our new garment classes but the dates haven’t worked for your schedule or you’d like to do your own thing, this is a chance to get started with help from an instructor who loves making her own clothes. If you need pattern suggestions, Christine is happy to chat with you ahead of class.
Please bring the following supplies: (supplies and many garment and bag patterns are available at the shop)
- Your project and corresponding pattern
- Sewing machine in good working order
- ¼” presser, zipper and zig zag foot for your machine, as applicable
- Thread according to your project
- Tailor’s chalk, pencil or fabric pen
- Sewing basics - clips, pins, scissors, seam ripper, extra needles

| Instructor Bio: | Christine (she/her) has been creating for as long as she can remember. As a kid, she finished her mom’s crewel projects, sewed doll clothes on a temperamental White sewing machine, crocheted a sweater for her dog, and counted many cross stitches. As an adult, she quilts (both machine and EPP), makes clothes because she has too many quilts, weaves and knits. She continues to work on improving her skills and is always open to learning new ones. In her non-sewing life, Christine is a public servant, a mom to 3 kids and a rescue dog from Texas, and a wife. She loves road trips to national parks with a needle and thread. |
