Wearable Art Scarf

Wearable Art is one of the most beautiful ways in which we can express ourselves. This workshop is all about bringing that gift forth as well as encouraging sustainability. We will play with shapes, colors, and textures.
This workshop combines machine piecing with hand stitching with an emphasis on improvisation, Students will machine piece a wearable scarf, or surface design panel to use in another project (this workshop is fantastic even if you don’t wear a scarf).
The scarf panel will be adorned with the rich textures of improv hand-stitching using colorful threads to give your work textural elegance.  Please note: this is not a hand quilting workshop.

Instructor Bio:
My studio is the lab where I learn, adapt and create; the place where new ideas emerge and balance is restored with each accomplishment and failure. I'm naturally curious about the creative process and employing new tools & techniques in order to grow as an artist and teacher.
In all workshops I encourage sustainability as a way to build confidence and community, with a back-to-basics approach and consciousness about resource use/waste.
I focus on the perfectly imperfect aspects of discovery, experimentation and most importantly, Living a satisfying life through creativity.
