Zippy Cross-Body Bags
Sew this trendy, versatile, crossbody bag in full-size, finished dimensions are 8" wide by 8" high. The Zippy bag has 4 zipper compartments, including 2 front, 1 back, and 1 main top compartment. This bag allows for a lot of creative color-blocking if desired, or you can make it in one fabric. Sarah will teach you how to follow a pattern, apply interfacing, make straps, use D-rings, use swivel hooks, use sliders, and install zippers. Please come to class knowing how to thread and run your machine, and have previous zipper sewing experience.

- The Zippy Bags pattern by Salllie Tomato
- ⅜ yard (if 42” wide) quilting cotton, linen blend, or light canvas for the exterior
- ½ yard of 42” wide fabric for the lining and pockets
- ¾ yard of SF101 medium-weight fusible interfacing (additional ¼ yard f using quilter’s cotton or denim for the bag bottom)
- Sallie Tomato Level 3 Basic Hardware Kit (which contains (2) ½” swivel hooks, (2) ½” D-rings, and (1) ½” slider buckle)
- zippers; either 1 package of Zippers by the Yard size #3 or #5 or four individual zippers 12" or longer
- Wash Away Wonder Tape
- sewing machine with power cord & foot pedal
- zipper foot for the machine
- pins and/or wonder clips
- fabric scissors
- rotary cutter
- chalk pencil or disappearing fabric marking pen
- universal sewing machine needles in size 80/12, 90/14 & 100/14
- thread to coordinate with chosen fabrics
- seam ripper

Her main focus these days is sewing purses and wallets and she loves creating custom orders with personalized touches. When not sewing, Sarah can be found reading, drinking coffee, snuggling her many critters, baking gluten-free goodies, or substitute teaching. She makes her home in the Mount Horeb area.
