Supply List
Session 1: Dyeing
Session 2: Sewing
Session 1: Dyeing
- Disposable latex or nitrile gloves (packs of 2 pair available at the shop)
- Apron or smock*
- Scissors
- Fabric for wiping up excess dye, fat quarter or larger. Sometimes this wipe-up cloth becomes a beautiful piece on its own. This piece does need to be cotton, linen or another cellulose fiber - synthetics don't absorb the dye.
Session 2: Sewing
- Sewing machine in good working order with standard and zipper presser feet
- Sewing machine needles size 100/16, Universal or Jeans type
- Basic sewing supplies; seam ripper, scissors, pins
- 1 3/4 yards webbing for strap
- Thread to coordinate or contrast with fabrics
- 1 yard or 3 fat quarters lining fabric (commercial print was used in the sample)
- 2 yards Shape Flex SF101 lightweight fusible interfacing
- 2 zippers, 14" & 9" (minimum lengths, longer is fine, they can be cut down)
- Wash Away Wonder Tape (optional, for zipper installation)
